At-Six Architecture is a partnership of principals John C. Barone and Jason
Langkammerer who together have over 20 years experience in architecture, construction
and real estate development. We are committed to building At-Six from our shared
strengths in residential, commercial and educational projects. Our design approach is
to synthesize the personalities, context, budget, and politics of each project, while
also embracing our responsibility to create resource-efficient buildings.
JOHN C. BARONE comes to At-Six Architecture with over ten years experience in the
architecture profession working for himself and for several top firms in the industry.
Mr. Barone founded the John C. Barone Design Studio in Los Angeles in 1999 and has
worked on numerous residential projects consisting of new construction, additions and
remodels/restorations. During that time he also worked and consulted on various projects
with award- winning/prestigious outside firms in both design and management capacities.
Working with top Los Angeles firms; including landscape designer Jay Griffith, W3
Architects, Marmol and Radziner Associates, Frank O. Gehry Associates, and Studio Works
Architects; Mr. Barone built a strong background in architectural design, project and
construction management.
Mr. Barone also worked as an architectural consultant for the structural engineering
firm of Englekirk and Sabol, and the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather.
In addition to residential projects, Mr. Barone has worked on schools, a museum, a yoga
studio, corporate offices/image and trade shows. His role as project manager and
construction manager on numerous projects placed him in charge of all design, bidding
and oversight from project inception through building completion including direct
dealings with clients, consultants, city agencies, and contractors.
Mr. Barone has a design emphasis on architecture that incorporates passive solar design,
recyclable and re-useable materials, and a close interaction with the building trades to
develop construction methods and details that save not only the client’s resources,
but the environment’s, as well.
Mr. Barone holds a B.S. in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern
California, and
a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of
